Rotary attracts a variety of people from many different areas, all of whom have one thing in common: to use their skills, experience and effort to give to their local and global communities, and so to make a difference.
The Rotary Club of Northbridge, now 30 years old, has women and men from the local area and from further afield.  They are attracted to the club’s purpose, its achievements and its people.
Perhaps they have received Rotary benefits as exchange students or in youth leadership programs, or they have attended a Rotary event such as the annual Northbridge Community Fireworks.  In many cases they have been among the large number of helpers assisting at fund-raising and charity events run by Rotary, such as the annual Seniors Lunch.  And in some cases they are simply curious and have met someone who is a member of Rotary.
Some examples of Rotary work involving the Northbridge club are:
Community causes: Streetwork (for wayward youths), Seniors Lunch, Community Fireworks, Pride of Workmanship, Taldumande Youth Services, Sailability, Netball BBQs, Youth Leadership.
National: Indy Kindy books for Aboriginal communities, floods and bushfires recovery works (including hands-on activities), Voice of Youth, Cord Blood Bank, Australian Indigenous Mentoring.
Regional: teacher facilities in Timor Leste, education in Vanuatu, community support in Fiji, earthquake recovery in New Zealand.
Global: the eradication of polio, Shelterbox relief for people in disaster areas, water wells in Uganda, education in Nepal, medical facilities in Laos, exchange students.
Rotary provides a vehicle through which people can contribute with the support of an organised and  professional organisation, drawing on skills and resources at all levels and in many countries.  Rotary maximises an individual’s efforts in synergy with other members.  And it does this with camaraderie and a great sense of satisfaction.  Rotary is made up of volunteers and has the advantage of seeing funds raised go to their causes without being dissipated in overheads.
People joining Rotary find a welcoming, non-competitive, voluntary environment with purpose and companionship.  The emphasis is on participation, to the extent that you wish and are able, with the added networking and social benefits of regular dinner meetings and guest speakers.
The cost to a member is the subscription of $150 each six months, a one-off $100 joining fee (to cover costs), the cost of dinner meetings that you attend, and voluntary donations to Rotary causes.
For further information please feel free to meet us at a club meeting at Northbridge Golf Club, held each Tuesday at 6.00pm, with dinner.  Or simply ask a Rotary member at one of our events.  You can find further information at:

I hope that we hear from you soon.
