Club Bulletin News 16 January 2024

Welcome

In President Luke’s absence, PP Malcolm Lye chaired the meeting. PP Malcolm welcomed everyone to our first meeting for 2024, especially our Guest Speaker, David Walsh, his wife Jenny Brocks and his friends Beau Pose and Tony Wright.

Toast

Garth Carter proposed the toast to the Rotary Club of Pennant Hills. They are a small Club with 11 active members and 5 honorary members. However their fundraising is significant, as their principal source is production of the Pride of Workmanship plaques for all Clubs in Australia. Another source is a raffle for a trailer full of gifts. Their funds are directed to St Lucy’s School and Aged Care Homes amongst other causes.

Announcements

Helen Gulson reminded everyone about our 40th Anniversary Dinner to be held on 6 February, 2024. All members are encouraged to come, with lots of fun planned for the night. Tickets can be purchased online at Rotary Northbridge's 40th Anniversary | Humanitix.

Helen also spoke about the District Conference to be held in Terrigal on 15/16 March and encouraged all members to think about attending. Details of the Conference can be found at https://www.9685rotaryconference2024.com.au/.  Accommodation options can be found at that link.

Helen mentioned that our meeting on 23 Jan is to be a Club Forum.

Michelle Barry announced that new posters promoting the Club’s Super Lottery are available to be placed in shops and businesses. We all must start promoting the Raffle. Only 90 tickets have been sold to date.
