Liz de Rome
Taldumande Youth Services

Liz de Rome is the Project and Volunteers Coordinator at Taldumande Youth Services. Her role is to recruit and retain volunteers as needed by the organisation and is the go to person for Rotary Clubs in the Northern Sydney and Northern Beaches regions. Liz’s role also includes the coordination of special projects and supporting Taldumande’s fundraising initiatives.

Prior to joining Taldumande, Liz worked in educational publishing for 15 years in copyright and project management. Just over two years ago, she joined Taldumande to help the administration team whilst they were recruiting for the position. She was so inspired by the great work they did, she decided to stay.

Liz and her husband Paul, who live on the Northern Beaches, have two wonderful daughters who have successful careers in the Health Services and Design industries.

About Taldumande Youth Services

Taldumande Youth Services has been supporting and caring for vulnerable and homeless young people, aged 12 to 21 years, in Northern Sydney for 41 years. In 2014 Taldumande accommodated 13 young people each night with seven staff and one government contract. Since then, we have more than increased fivefold to 65 young people every night in 26 properties, with over 40 staff and four government contracts. This year alone we were able to support 20 per cent more youths than the previous financial year working with a total of 591 at risk children and young people.

Taldumande is very grateful for the community support we receive as this allows us to continue to provide the best level of accommodation and support possible for the vulnerable children and young people in our care.
